About The Book
Mommy,
Am I Indian Today?

"A beautifully illustrated, must read book for anyone parenting multi-cultural kids."
- Sandy Takashima, Santa Cruz
This book is inspired by my son’s question, 'Mommy, am I Indian today?' when he was being dressed in traditional ethnic clothing. Both of my sons were born in America, and I realized that it was important to have a discussion with them about their cultural legacy, emphasizing the profound understanding that being Indian transcends the mere act of wearing beautiful ethnic attire.
Through the beautiful illustrations, this story touches on my family's journey in coming to America and that we are Indians every day, not simply when we are wearing this beautiful clothing.
"I’ve always had a deep love for children’s books, and the defining moments of my life led to the creation of Mommy, Am I Indian Today? I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring this cherished story to life for generations to come. It also opens the door for meaningful conversations in families with multicultural backgrounds—conversations that nurture culture, family, and connection."
- Sheeba Varghese
